Positive Places of European Memory - 1 step
There was a first meeting in the project Positive Places of European Memory. The project is funded from the Minister's "Young Inventors University" project in the framework of the grant provided by the Poland's Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW) entitled "Support for the management of research and its results". The Conference "The ideal of the university and the needs of society"
During the Third International Conference entitled "The ideal of the university and the needs of society," organized by the Jagiellonian University, Dr. King Anna Gajda gave a lecture entitled 'The social role of the university - the training of intercultural competence'. The purpose was to discuss the issues concerning university teaching of intercultural competence - understood as one of the key social competences.... »

E-voting
First and third university class of intercultural competence has started work on a project entitled: The impact of e-voting for electoral participation. The project is based upon both research and teaching. With regard to the project's research aspect the objective is to verify whether the introduction of new methods of voting can be a factor positively influencing voter turnout among young people between 16 and 18 years of age. Motivations to undertake such studies stem from, on the one hand, low voter turnout among young people (at all levels of government - local, national, European) and the recommendations of experts from European research centers on ways to strengthen youth participation in political elections, among other things, particular emphasis is given to the introduction of new voting methods - such as the Internet. On the other hand, the question arises whether the Internet can be seen by the public as a reliable and secure voting tool. Especially since the controversy surrounding the counting of votes cast in the local elections in November 2014 years could contribute to the negative perception of the electronic form of voting.... »
